Abstract
The article explores a comparative geopolitical analysis of drug trafficking in Mexico and Colombia, two of the countries most affected by illicit drug production, trafficking, and violence. It examines the historical dynamics, social, political, and economic impacts, as well as the evolving
governmental strategies under increasing international pressure. Moreover, it analyzes the regional and global geopolitical implications of drug trafficking, providing a critical perspective on the outcomes achieved and lessons learned in addressing this complex phenomenon.
