This current work is based on the contribution of discarded materials that allow for the improvement of the mechanical property of concrete, specifically the compressive strength. This research arises as a mechanism to take advantage of industrial waste such as rice husks, since the silica obtained from this waste can help to improve the compressive strength of concrete. In the development of this research, one of the main conclusions is that the addition of pozzolanic elements such as rice husk ash does improve the mechanical and chemical properties of concrete: 10% of the significant mass of concrete can be partially substituted without losing mechanical properties. For this purpose, the respective normative tests were carried out from the mix design, curing and failure of the cylinders, to determine their compressive strength and to determine a correlation of the strengths with respect to the two designed strengths of the cylinders added with silica and without the additive.
