Collective theater introduced a fundamental change in theatrical production, empowering the performer in the creation of stage material and fostering a new dramaturgy centered on the corporality and acting language of a collaborative text. Each participant has a voice in the creative task, in a free, collective stage play committed to their reality, seeking expression and paving the way for new acting techniques. This movement affirmed the need for a Latin American identity for theater, which also influenced the pedagogical processes of schools training performing artists.
