La IA más allá del aprendizaje del inglés: desarrollo afectivo y conciencia global en la educación primaria

Resumen

Introducción: El presente estudio forma parte de una investigación más amplia realizada con 42 estudiantes de sexto curso de Educación Primaria en España, que examina el potencial pedagógico de la Inteligencia Artificial Generativa (IAGen) para el desarrollo de las destrezas orales en inglés como lengua extranjera (EFL). Desde una perspectiva complementaria, este estudio exploratorio, basado en las percepciones de los participantes, analiza cómo la IA generativa puede influir en los factores afectivos del alumnado, entre ellos la motivación, la confianza, la ansiedad o la frustración, así como de qué manera las actividades mediadas por la IA generativa, vinculadas a los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), pueden favorecer la concienciación de los estudiantes sobre los desafíos globales. Metodología:Mediante un enfoque de métodos mixtos, con triangulación de datos cuantitativos y cualitativos, este estudio ofrece una comprensión matizada de los resultados potenciales basada en las percepciones del alumnado. Resultados y discusión:Los resultados muestran que la IAGen puede favorecer la concienciación del alumnado sobre cuestiones globales e incrementar la motivación, la confianza y la disposición a comunicarse, aunque algunos estudiantes experimentaron frustración o sobrecarga cognitiva. No obstante, también se observaron variaciones en la comprensión de los ODS y diferentes grados de implicación y motivación entre los participantes, lo que pone de manifiesto las limitaciones percibidas de estas herramientas. Conclusiones: Así, la IAGen combinada con temáticas relacionadas con la sostenibilidad puede contribuir al crecimiento personal y promover una educación más holística en el aprendizaje del inglés como lengua extranjera.
