Conflict of Interest Policy

The Editorial Committee of PAPELES follows the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure that all editorial processes are conducted with the highest level of transparency and integrity. In this regard, any author, reviewer, reader, or member of the editorial team who identifies a potential conflict of interest related to a manuscript under review, whether at the reception stage or any other phase of the process, must declare it explicitly. Conflicts of interest may be financial, professional, personal, or of any other nature, and they must be appropriately managed to ensure impartiality in the evaluation and publication of the work.

If a conflict of interest arises, the Editorial Committee will take the necessary actions in accordance with the best practices recommended by COPE, ensuring the integrity of the publication process. The decisions made will be communicated clearly and promptly and within a maximum of 10 business days after the receipt of the complaint.

All submitted manuscripts must include a statement indicating whether there are any potential conflicts of interest, whether financial or not, that may have influenced the research outcomes. This statement must detail, if applicable, the sources of funding for the study and confirm that none of the authors have conflicts of interest. Furthermore, it must be ensured that all authors agree with the publication of the article and that any use of private information has the required permissions.
